ThinkFirst programs increase understanding of potential for injury and permanent effects of Traumatic Brain Injury/Spinal Cord Injury. Each program is led by a professional trained in injury prevention and often includes a person who has been afflicted with a brain or spinal cord injury for a real-life perspective.

Please note that not all chapters offer these programs. Check your local Chapter for a complete list of local programs.

In addition, some ThinkFirst chapters offer:

Child Passenger Safety Events
We assist at local car-seat checkpoints and educational events.

Bike Helmet Fittings
We work with local schools to fit students with bicycle helmets and provide education on injury prevention.

Crash Reenactments
We coordinate simulated crash scenes for teens at school-wide events.

Victim Impact Panels
We can provide an injured speaker to present information to court-ordered DUI offenders.

Operation Teen Safe Driving
ThinkFirst chapters act as liaisons to participating schools for the IDOT Operation Teen Safe Driving program.
